Brazil

Overview

  • Florida

Our first ministry together was serving at Ethnos360 Home Office. We concluded our roles there at the end of 2024.

  • Brazil - Language learning

We need to learn Portuguese, especially since over half of our co-workers are native Portuguese speakers. We are spending a year or two learning the language and culture before moving on to our permanent ministry location.

  • Brazil - Long term ministry

School, kids, food, internet and computers; these are just a snapshot of what we expect to be involved with.

What we expect to do

I have not made the trip to Brazil (yet) but from my experiences overseas I expect that it will be different than I can imagine, better in some ways, harder in others. I have confidence in the Lord that He will sustain me, that my training will be useful, and the information that I have learned from James and the experiences he has had at PQQ are preparing me for the road ahead. ~ELY

After volunteering for a year, I’ve been invited to return to my role of keeping the computers and network in good shape. There will be plenty of opportunities for me to teach as well, and I am looking forward to being a little more organized in teaching computer applications. ~JAMES

Estância Internacional Puraquequara exists to develop in excellence disciples of Jesus Christ. It is a boarding school for 5th through 12th-grade missionary kids in Brazil. It has a Portuguese curriculum for Brazilians, and English for the other students.
