Upon completing language training we started our long term ministry at the school, in July 2026. (I need to update that picture ⬅️)
Some of our ministries
James is taking responsibility for the (American) high school science classes. To begin with, that includes Physical Science, Chemistry, and Physics. He also teaches Algebra I and is helping in the library.
Ely is part of the dining hall team. Her first responsibility is to bake bread, keeping the kitchen supplied with that staple. She also is in the rotation of 21 meals and 14 snacks per week, and helps translate between the kitchen staff who either don’t speak English or don’t speak Portuguese.

Our Long Term Plan
The specific roles that we fill will vary from year to year as we teach different classes, help in different projects, and fill in for others. In everything we do, we want to serve the students and their parents by giving them an excellent education and a good home-away-from-home. We believe that this serves the church’s mission of evangelism where families would otherwise need to leave there area of ministry.
